DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 10, 2014) - Hopping back on the bike after any serious injury is tough, but J.R. Addison didn’t show any apprehension about returning, even at one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.

Addison suffered an injury in a crash at Springfield in May, and it wasn’t until Aug. 23 at Colonial Downs in Virginia that he was able to get back on board his Parkinson Brothers Racing Honda.

This wasn’t just a rehab start either. Addison battled the eventual 2014 Pro Singles champion, Kyle Johnson, right down to the finish line, and nipped his rival by a scant .035 seconds at the checkered flag.

“This is my kind of track, so I was pretty excited for it,” Addison said. “I just wanted to come and have some fun. I was just hoping to do like a top 10, top 5 maybe. Pulling out the win, it’s so great.”

Addison went on to qualify for the main events each race after Virginia as well.
