Bryan Smith tops Charlotte Half-Mile qualifying

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aug. 29, 2015) - Bryan Smith continued to prove that factory-backed Crosley Brands/Howerton Motorsports Kawasaki EX650 is becoming a true contender on Half-Miles. Smith topped timed qualifying Saturday afternoon for tonight’s Don Tilley Memorial Charlotte Half-Mile being held at the Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Smith pushed his Kawasaki to a time of 20.973-seconds to lead the way. Smith was the only rider to dip into the 20-second bracket.

Jason Isennock turned a lot of heads by coming in second in the combined times from the two GNC1 timed qualifying sessions. Isennock was using the high line with good success on his Richard Foard Sr./Highs Dairy Stores Kawasaki.

Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. (Zanotti Racing Harley-Davidson), Johnny Lewis (Lloyd Brothers Motorsports Ducati) and Briar Bauman (USC/Hart Racing Kawasaki) rounded out the top five.

Series leader Jared Mees (Las Vegas H-D/Rogers Racing Harley-Davidson) was eighth.

Davis Fisher led the way in the GNC2 class on his Racing Unlimited/Parkinson Brothers Racing Kawasaki EX650.
