During our road trip we spent one night with Cory Strickler and one night at Don Kissinger's. Kevin Atherton offered us a place to stay on the way home - and he gave me one of his national number 23 helmets while we were there. Sweet! When I finally made it back to Illinois, another surprise: The Missouri Mules Motorcycle club had voted to donate some money to my program. Thanks to everyone for helping with the cost of racing!

This year has been going great and I just have to thank all the people that don't get credit for the hard work they put into my program. The Wednesday before I-96 I drove down to Vans Yamaha in Sparta, IL to rebuild the new 2010 Yamaha. Woody Kyle has moved to Illinois so he can be centrally located to more races and be able to work on more race bikes. Me and Woody worked on the Yamaha all Wednesday and early Thursday. I can't thank him enough. The 2010 Yamaha is running Awesome with his fine tuning skills.

Lake Odessa was great experience after Kevin Atherton called me askin if I wanted the chance to ride the EnI sponsored Ducati. I was so excited to ride the twin especially with Kevin being my mechanic for the day. It was great working with him. I grew up racing as Carver 23 so wearing Kevin's helmet was pretty cool too. The bike was really sick and very fast, just hard to get traction in the middle of the corner. After qualifying and the heat, we got the bike working awesome heading into the semi but I still came up short not making the main. But I gained experience. Thanks to Lloyd Brothers Motorsports for giving me this opportunity as well as Mr. Leo Welch for stepping up for the ride too.

Even though I was really excited about riding the Ducati, my main focus was to stretch my points lead in the Motorcycle Superstore Pro Single series. I qualified second behind Rispoli. In my heat race I had Baker, who is second in points and the man I have to beat every weekend. He got the hole shot and right off the bat I was all over him sticking a wheel under him every corner giving him a love tap in the first lap then got a great drive out of corner four taking the lead and the checkered flag. After the heat I knew the bike was set for the main and left it alone.

Walking our bikes down the front stretch for the main I looked up at the crowd and the best thing was - the stands were packed! It really got me excited for the start, ready to bang bars - and banging bars is what we did going into the first corner. Baker got the jump on me and we drag raced to the first corner. He got the hole shot and I had Rispoli on the outside of me rubbing side plates. Coming out of turn two I shifted into 4th and slingshot by Baker going into 3 and never looked back. I just kept charging till the white flag. That's when I realized I had a straight away lead. Unfortunately Zack Palmer went down coming out of 4 and was in the bails which brought out the red flag instead of the checker. I hope he's alright. Since it was the last lap they called it and I took the victory lap. Felt great to get my 3rd win of the year. My Van's Yamaha, Woody Kyle tuned 450 was screamin! I took the I-96 speedway win with a 3.3 second lead.
