Factory Harley-Davidson and Defending Grand National Champion Brad Baker Make Up Frightening Combination for Competition in 2014
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (December 6, 2013) – It has recently been confirmed that reigning AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Champion Brad Baker will attach his No. 1 plate to the heavily sought-after Factory Harley-Davidson XR750 for all 12 AMA Pro Expert Twins events scheduled for 2014. Baker becomes the latest addition to ride for arguably the most elite race team in all of flat track as Factory Harley-Davidson’s list of previous riders include the likes of Chris Carr, Scotty Parker, Jay Springsteen, and Kenny Coolbeth; all of whom hold multiple Grand National Championships.
“I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and to be the next guy in line to fill the shoes of such great riders who have ridden for the factory team in the past.” said Baker. “On top of it all, I get to enter the season with the No. 1 plate! At 20-years-old, this almost feels like a dream come true. I’m ready to go out there in 2014 and hopefully keep the No. 1 plate on the Factory Harley-Davidson XR750.”
In AMA Pro Expert Singles competition, Baker will ride a Fun Mart Cycle Center backed KTM 450 SX-F in 2014.
Baker’s two wins and six total podiums last year, including a critical victory at the season finale over Bryan Smith, helped him claim his first ever Grand National Championship. Now, with backing from the premier race team of the sport, the potential for Baker in 2014 is through the roof.
It’s hard to say exactly how high the ceiling is for the 20-year-old, as the Dryad, Wash. product has impressed and improved in every season since entering the professional ranks in 2011 when he earned Saddleman Rookie of the Year. One thing is assured, however, Baker will be looking give his competitors all they can handle when the lights go green on March 13, 2014 for the season opener in Daytona.
