Grand National Flat Tracker Sammy Sweet Shifts Gears

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 20, 2009) - Last year Sammy Sweet wowed his fans by returning full time to the sport he once retired from. He changed peoples minds regarding his capabilities and adapted well to the new circuit. Towards the end of the season, a crash left Sammy with a long road of recovery. Ready at Daytona for the start of the 2009 season, Sammy took another fall and realized his true purpose.

With more than a month until the next race, Sammy formed SSR, incorporated.
Acting as team owner with responsibilities including coaching, technical, and financial; Sweet has young and talented Corby Scherb as his chosen one for the team. With the added guidance of Kenny Tolbert and Chris Carr, Scherb will remain in the Pro division instead of stepping into the Expert level.

Scherb, part of the Scherb family race team is the second oldest of four brothers. One could say racing runs in the family.

SSR, inc. will compete in the entire singles championship as well when schedule permits, their hometown series under the Vintage Dirt Track Racing Association. Plans to run a twin-style motorcycle are still in the works.

The race team will be sponsored by: Chico Racing (Ken Childs), DFW Honda, Hall's Cycle, PMP Sprockets, D & D Exhausts and Tucker Rocky.
