Injured Veteran to Assist AMA Pro Flat Track Team in Lima, Ohio this Weekend

Upper Arlington, Ohio (6/26/2014) - This Saturday, VETMotorsports will be collaborating with the Bonneville Performance/Castrol/Triumph Team and place an injured combat veteran into their efforts at the Lima Half-Mile. VETMotorsports' mission is to honor and empower disabled combat veterans through active participation in motor sports. Currently, the non-profit places post 9/11 wounded combat veterans behind the wheel in sanctioned autocross events, and embeds them as pit crew members within select AMA Pro Racing teams. This will be VETMotorsports' first time in the AMA Pro Flat Track paddock.

“Christy Cottrell (Bonneville Performance/Castrol/Triumph) contacted us about pairing VETMotorsports with their efforts this weekend in Lima, Ohio. With our organization being based just a short distance away we couldn't pass up this opportunity. VETMotorsports will be placing one veteran into Bonneville Performance/Castrol/Triumph this Saturday.

VETMotorsports gets to have a presence in the AMA Pro Flat Track paddock for the first time, while finishing up our efforts this weekend in Colorado Springs at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. VETMotorsports is grateful for AMA Pro Flat Track and Bonneville Performance/Castrol/Triumph for making the arrangements, and to provide this generation of wounded veterans a unique and powerful outlet to showcase their value,” stated VETMotorsports Executive Director and Founder Peter Cline.
