MEDFORD, OR (June 17, 2014) - It was another win, win weekend for Motorcycle Superstore / Bell Helmet AMA Pro Flat Track athletes as Kyle Johnson ran away with the overall win in the Pro Singles class while Ryan Well's 5th place finish propelled him into the series points lead.
Johnson, after winning his heat race, easily earned his main event victory by piloting his Hot Rod Harley-Davidson Honda to a 6.21-second lead.
"After having a challenging start to the season, I was hungry for a win. This was my first time riding Knoxville so I wasn't sure what to expect. In qualifying, I went out and found that my bike was dialed in and was able to find the fast line around the track. After winning my heat race, I knew I needed to go out and do the same thing in the main event. My start in the main wasn't great so I knew I had my work cut out for me. I put my head down and made my way to the front. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Father's Day than taking my dad on a victory lap. I would like to thank my sponsors, family, friends and fans for all the support. Now I need to stay focused and be consistent the rest of the season."
Wells' race weekend started out great by grabbing a 2nd in his heat race and transfering straight to the main, but issues with his bike derailed his overall chances for a win. "I thought this was going to be my race but my bike started blowing oil in the main and was dropping power - but that's racing, we'll come back ready to win next weekend.
"I'm just happy to keep moving forward and now have the points lead"
The next round of the AMA Pro Flat Track series will head to Lima, Ohio for the Lima Half-Mile at the Allen County Fairgrounds on June 28, 2014. If you can't be there, make sure to check out the live action on www.FansChoice.tv.
