Lima Half-Mile

The Allen County Fairgrounds is held in special regard among AMA Pro Flat Track fans for its pea-gravel, Half-Mile circuit. On June 27, riders will return to Lima for a completely different test from most of the other tracks visited by the world’s top flat track racers.

Last year, Sammy Halbert looked to be the man in charge before mechanical woes ended his race early. After that, Jared Mees and Bryan Smith battled back and forth in a classic mix of corner entry and exit strategy that saw the two elite riders crisscrossing mid-corner for a handful of laps before Mees was able to pull away and eventually score the win. It was the first victory for Mees at the track since 2007, and four active full-time GNC1 riders own at least one victory each at Lima.

In GNC2, the victory was the second of three straight for eventual class champion Kyle Johnson.
With the gravel flying and plenty of different strategies that could prove to pay dividends, Lima is a can’t-miss event in 2015
