Longtime AMA Pro Flat Track Mechanic and Zanotti Racing Part Ways

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 25, 2013) – Two-time AMA Pro Flat Track Mechanic of the Year Ted McDermit and Zanotti Racing have decided to part ways this offseason. McDermitt, a big part of former Zanotti Racing rider Jake Johnson’s two Grand National Championships in 2010 and 2011, says the split was a mutual agreement and there are no hard feelings between him and his former employer for the last seven years.

“It wasn’t because of disagreements or any bad blood or anything like that,” said McDermitt. “A lot of my success over the years has been because of Zanotti and their first-class way of going about things. They always had top notch equipment and featured some of the strongest riders every year. Both my family and the Zanotti family are very close and I’ve thanked them for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their organization over the last several years. I wish them the best of luck in the future.”

McDermitt now becomes one of those most sought after mechanics in the AMA Pro Flat Track arena, as his resume and loyalty speak for itself.
