Marketing Groups Representing California Bike Week Win Prestigious Award

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 1, 2009) - NCompass International and Bill Silva Presents, the marketing groups representing Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the Love Ride, have been awarded the prestigious 2009 Ex Award for Best Cause Marketing for the the 25th Anniversary of The Love Ride.

The award, presented for excellence in outstanding event and experiential programs by Event Marketer Magazine, was accepted on stage in front of 2,000 top marketing professionals in Chicago on Monday night by Love Ride founder, Oliver Shokouh, Harley-Davidson's Event Marketing head, Steve Piehl, and NCompass co-founders, Donna Graves and Kae Erickson.

Last year's Jay Leno and Willy G. Davidson hosted event was the single largest one-day motorcycle ride for children's charities in history, with 25,000 participants riding sixty miles from Glendale Harley-Davidson to Pomona, California's Pomona Fairplex to enjoy an afternoon of all things music and motorcycle. The event hosted over 250 motorcycle-centric venders, hundreds of dedicated volunteers, dozens of mobile marketing set ups, Gene Romero's West Coast Flat Track Series (WCFTS) motorcycle races, Harley's twelve semi-truck Harley-Davidson Road Tour, custom bike shows, several caring sponsors including H-D, Budweiser and Best Buy, Hollywood celebrities and a major concert event by ZZ Top and Foo Fighters.

The Love Ride raised over a million dollars for charities in 2008 and has awarded over $23,000,000 to children in need since it's conception 25 years ago. The dates for California Bike Week, which is a joint endeavor of the Love Ride Foundation and the Southern California Harley-Davidson Dealers Association, will be October 23-25, 2009 and will end with Love Ride 26 at the Pomona Fairplex. The AMA Pro Grand National Flat Track Season Grand Finale, combined with Gene Romero's WCFTS, will take place on Saturday night on the lightening-fast 5/8-mile dirt track.
