Medin brings racing background and motorcycle passion to FansChoice.tv broadcast team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 10, 2015) – Dani Medin has long had an affinity for anything with a motor, and the Minnesota native has always been drawn to being on two-wheels.

“When I was 16 years old, instead of getting a car like most people do, I got a pit bike, I got a dirt bike,” Medin said. “It was something I always wanted.”

Her path to being named pit reporter for 2015 AMA Pro Flat Track events broadcast on FansChoice.tv hasn’t traveled a traditional path – it included snowmobile racing and modeling – but motorcycles and racing have always been central themes in her life.

Medin will join flat track legend Chris Carr and longtime Grand National Championship rider Scottie Deubler on broadcasts this year, starting with the season-opening doubleheader at DAYTONA Flat Track.

Medin spent a decade professionally racing snowmobiles before transition to holding a microphone in front of the camera. She said she plans on attacking covering flat track on FansChoice with the same passion she’s shown in everything else in her professional career.

“It’s new territory, but it’s great territory,” Medin said. “My dad was a big Harley guy, we grew up with Harleys, everyone around us had motorcycles. And when I got my first bike, I was like, ‘This is awesome.’ I felt so powerful.”

Spending so much time around snowmobiles, motorcycles and off-road trucks comes as no surprise to anyone who watched Medin grow up.

“I had a go-kart instead of a bike growing up,” Medin said. “It was like, ‘You just can’t slow her down.’ So I learned to ride down our little street. And after I learned to ride, I said I was going to get my license. So I went and got my license.

"I love motorcycles, the way the look, the way they feel, the fact that I can ride, being 5 feet, 5 inches, on a good day. I just feel powerful. It’s fun, its relaxing, nothing else matters when you’re riding.”

Medin may be obsessed with speed in every sense, but she admits she’s especially excited to be working with flat track racing because of its history.

“It’s going to be amazing,” Medin said. “This is the beginnings of motorcycle racing, and to go back to those days and be a part of this now, it’s like, “Why me? But yeah, I’m your girl, we can do this!’ I have a lot to learn, but I’m excited!”
