Plenty of off-track action makes AMA Pro Flat Track Finals in Pomona, Calif. a must-attend event
DAYOTNA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 6, 2014) - As if fans of AMA Pro Flat Track needed any more excitement Saturday at the Flat Track Finals at the LA County Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., a plethora of added entertainment promises to make the event a truly special day.
The Law Tigers Flat Track Finals Presented by Harley-Davidson of Glendale and Pomona Valley Harley-Davidson features two ultra-tight championship battles that will play out on the track. In the Expert Grand National Championship title hunt, Jared Mees leads Bryan Smith by just 13 points. In Pro Singles, Kyle Johnson holds a scant six-point lead over Davis Fisher.
Gene Romero, 1970 Grand National Champion and star of the movie “On Any Sunday” will serve as Grand Marshal for the event.
Outside of racing, there’s plenty of excitement as well. The event will feature, among other activities, an AMA National Champions Super Speedway Bike race with Billy Hamill and Billy Janniro along with 10 others. There will be a Gasser Customs Vintage Motorcycle Rally, Ascot Flat Track reunion and Legends Autograph Session featuring some of the biggest names in motorcycle racing. There will also be a Pin Up Girl Challenge and meet and greet with Rock-A-Billy band, The Loveless, who will also be playing.
Fans will also have the chance to win tickets to the Hollywood premier with red-carpet treatment for the debut of “On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter,” the director of which, Dana Brown, will be on hand to sign autographs and meet fans.
As if that wasn’t enough, all motorcycles are invited to cruise on the track in a “Salute to Pomona” during what might be the final event at the famed Southern California circuit.
On-track action begins at 3 p.m. PT and opening ceremonies are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT. The Pro Singles and Expert main events are set to go green at 9 p.m. PT and 9:30 p.m. PT, respectively.
