RIP Fred Fox

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 7, 2023) - AMA Pro Racing offers its condolences to the family and friends of Fred Fox, who passed away on February 5 at the age of 86. Fox was a titan in the powersports industry and one of the most influential figures in all of motorsports.

Born in 1936, Fox earned an engineering degree before ultimately founding the company that would eventually become Parts Unlimited in 1967.

What started as a one-man operation in Janesville, Wisconsin, would eventually employ approximately 1500 people across the globe. Parts Unlimited, and its sister brands under the LeMans Corporation umbrella, now stand as the world’s largest distributor of aftermarket accessories in the powersports industry.

It also became synonymous with motorcycle racing as the company long lived up to its mantra, “We Support the Sport.” It has actively supported motorsports from the earliest days it first began supplying dealerships with its extensive selection of accessories to today, where it now stands as the title sponsor of the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles category in Progressive American Flat Track.

Fox was recognized for his efforts and impact when he was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2011.
