Shayna Texter to race with fellow AMA Pro Flat Track riders Brad Baker and Jared Mees in Superprestigio
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 8, 2014) - The first female rider to win an AMA Pro Flat Track GNC2 main event is headed to Spain, having recently secured a coveted invite to compete in the Superprestigio alongside the last two Grand National Champions, Jared Mees and Brad Baker.
The invitation-only short track race is hosted by MotoGP road racing superstar Marc Marquez. Last season, Baker went toe-to-toe with Marquez and came out the victor in the inaugural event.
In 2011, Texter won the Knoxville Half-Mile and just completed her rookie season in the premier GNC1 class. In 2013, Texter won twice in the GNC2 ranks and finished the season fourth in points. That season came after a five-win campaign in 2012 in which she ended up fifth in points.
The Superprestigio is scheduled for Dec. 13 and will be broadcast live online for fans thanks to a partnership between Cycle World and AMA Pro Flat Track.
