CALISTOGA, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2014) - Calistoga is the next to last stop on the AMA Pro schedule and after 14 races that began at Daytona in March; the battle for the No. 1 plate is a royal rumble among three contenders. Half Mile events always call for an aggressive style and riders will be pushing each other hard in the corners in a chase for the championship, which could be settled at Calistoga or go down to the wire just two weeks later in Pomona on Oct. 11.

The AMA Pro Competition is Heating up and Coming Down to the Wire

Following the AMA Pro Racing Grand National Springfield mile that took place over the Labor Day Weekend Crosley Radio sponsored #42 Bryan Smith remains at the top of the points chase. SDI Insulation/Craig Roger's Racing sponsored #9 Jared Mees is only nine points behind Smith and Ramspur Winery/Lloyd Brother's Racing sponsored #5 Jake Johnson is seated third in points, 23 behind Smith. Johnson was the latest winner of the Calistoga Half-Mile competition in 2011. Anything can happen at Calistoga, Smith lost Springfield by 1/100th of a second, the closest finish in AMA Pro Racing history, to the King of Cool, Zanotti Racing's Kenny Coolbeth. Coolbeth is currently 4th in points and the points have never been closer going into the last two races of the series. It all comes down to California at Calistoga and Pomona.

Meet A Motorcycle Madman and Legend at the Ever Popular Legends Autograph Session

If it's possible to do on two wheels, Eddie Mulder has done it. He's won on steeplechase and desert courses and performed death-defying stunts in Hollywood. He's a five-time AMA Pro national winner and a many time AMA Pro District 37 champion. He created the West Coast Vintage Dirt Track Series. He's an AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame rider with a film industry pedigree as a master stuntman in major motion pictures. He's been called an icon and a real character and has added a lot of personality and color to the world of flat track racing. Now, he's the Grand Marshall of the Ramspur Winery Calistoga AMA Pro Half-Mile. Eddie will be on hand at the event both as a Co-Promoter and of course the event Grand Marshal. Meet Eddie at the ever popular Legends Autograph session which will include Eddie and all the greats on two-wheels. Bring something to sign or grab something at the track, get autographs and pictures and swap stories with the heroes of the sport. The Legends Autograph Session is scheduled for 5:30- 6:30 pm on race day!

Bay Area Legendary Rockers, Void Where Prohibited, Sign on to the Calistoga Half-Mile

Long time SF Bay Area favorites Void Where Prohibited have signed on to play the Calistoga Half Mile during pre-event festivities. "We are very excited to have Void Where Prohibited join the exciting entertainment lineup for the Ramspur Winery Calistoga Half Mile on September 27th," says event co-promoter Terry Otton. "With epic racing, new track improvements and a museum quality bike show, the addition of one of the Bay Area's best and hardest working bands really helps put this event over the top."

Void Where Prohibited will play an extended set between 5:00pm and 6:00pm as the action begins to get heated up.
