August 24, 2013 - When the Green Flag signals the start of the Law Tigers AMA Pro Flat Track Finals, brought to you by Pomona Valley Harley-Davidson and Harley-Davidson of Glendale, at the Fairplex in Pomona, October 12th, race fans will be treated to an evening of unparalleled excitement.

There is literally no other form of motorsports that can be compared to the spectacle of AMA Pro Flat Track racing. It is unique. It is fast. It is unbelievably exciting. Unprotected by metal or heavy roll bars, riders wrestle two-wheeled machines hitting speeds over 130 mph, running handlebar-to-handlebar. It is motorcycle racing at its best and showcases the talents of some of the greatest two-wheeled athletes in the world.

With 8 rounds completed in this year’s 13 race tour, the championship points are all important. So far this season there have been seven winners in eight races; Mike Rush – Daytona Flat Track 1, Brandon Robinson – Daytona Flat Track II, Sammy Halbert – Stockton Half Mile, Brad Baker – Hagerstown, Bryan Smith – Sacramento Mile and the Indy Mile, Jeffrey Carver – Castle Rock TT and Henry Wiles – Peoria TT.

Holding down the lead with 155 points is Brad Baker, the 2011 AMA Pro Saddlemen Rookie of the year. Hailing from Eatonville, Wash, Baker turned Pro in 2009 and has been steadily climbing the ladder of success ever since. With two AMA Pro Singles titles in his pocket, a 5th place overall last season and this year’s Grand National Expert Singles title to his credit, Baker has now set his sights on winning both the coveted Grand National crown, as well as the Grand National Expert Twins title.

Running in second place is Bryan Smith of Flushing, Mich. Smith, who rides for the Crosley Radio/Howerton Motors team, is well known for his ability on mile tracks. Fresh from a win at Indy, Smith has also won the Sacramento Mile three years in a row and now has his eyes on this year’s title.

Currently ranked in third place in the point standings is Lloyd Brothers Motorsports rider Henry Wiles of Winn, Mich. Wiles who took the win at Pomona in 2009 and scored a victory at Peoria this season, would like nothing more than to put his Ramspur Winery sponsored Ducati in first place at Pomona.

Sitting in fourth place is the defending Grand National champion Jared Mees from Clio, Mich. Forced to sit out a race due to injuries, Mees is definitely looking to end the season with a win at Pomona.

And these are only four riders out of a full field of the world’s best flat track competitors.

Adding even more sizzle to this already incredible event, the Law Tigers AMA Pro Flat Track Finals has added the Super Long Track Speedway Bike Invitational Challenge to the evening’s program. Not just an exhibition race, this year it is the real thing – an all-out shoulder-to-shoulder race for the cash. Twelve of the top Speedway racers will battle it out on the famed Pomona Half-Mile.
