Tracks - Springfield Mile

To many, the Springfield Mile is the crown jewel of the AMA Pro Flat Track schedule. In fact, riders, teams and fans make the trek to flat track’s hallowed grounds twice a year, May 24 and Sept. 6, and both events are considered to be perhaps the most prestigious to win on the circuit.

Attendance at the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend events have been longstanding traditions for many fans throughout the years, and the 2015 editions promise to bring the same high-speed excitement that has made the Springfield Mile so special.

In 2014, Bryan Smith won the first Springfield Mile on his Kawasaki. The victory jump-started a season in which he was vying for a championship until the final moments of the year. The second edition of the event saw Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. take the checkered flag in thrilling fashion.

The GNC2 riders will mount larger, twin-cylinder machines for both stops, adding extra intrigue to the event for the up-and-coming class. In 2014, hotshot youngster Jarod Vanderkooi dominated both Springfield races.
