OTTUMWA, Iowa (December 27, 2010) - Weirbach Racing announces the return sponsorship and support of three young riders. 20 year old Canadian rider Mike LaBelle and 17 year old California native Mikey Martin will compete for the AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com Pro Singles Grand National Championship in 2011. In 2010, LaBelle finished 5th in overall points and ended the season with a win at the Prescott, Ariz. mile. Martin had some impressive finishes in his first year as an AMA Pro Singles rider, including a 3rd place finish on the Springfield TT and a very close 2nd to teammate LaBelle in Prescott, Ariz. Martin finished the year 6th in overall points.

New to the team this year is National No. 45 Jesse Janisch from Hartford, Wis. Janisch will compete in the AMA Pro Expert Grand National Series riding CRF 450 Hondas and a Suzuki SV-650.

“I am pleased to have these three fine young men to add to the list of names that have been part of Weirbach Racing,” said Dick Weirbach, a 35 year veteran of the Flat Track racing scene. “I know they have the talent to carry on the winning traditions of past riders, and that they conduct themselves in a way that our sponsors will be proud to be associated with them on and off of the race track. Our goal for 2011 is to win the Pro Singles title and develop the SV into a strong competitive machine on the miles and half miles.”

“Keeping the team intact gives us an advantage when it comes to focus going into the 2011 Pro Singles season,” said Weirbach’s son, Ted. “Watching the development of LaBelle and Martin over the 2010 season, as well as the competition between them, only raises the level of excitement around the team going into the next year. The full time addition of Jesse Janisch No. 45 in the AMA Pro Grand National Championship Expert class brings solid experience and leadership to the team. He is a great fit and a welcomed addition. “

“I’m really excited to be returning to Weirbach Racing in 2011,” said LaBelle. “Mikey Martin and I battled hard last year in the Pro Singles class, and I believe that both of us have things we will help each other with to make one strong team. In 2011, I am going to push hard for that No. 1 plate, but to do so I have to work even harder this year during the off season. I am going to start with a meal plan and workout schedule, followed by some indoor races in the U.S. If I work hard enough, you will be seeing a lot more of me on the podium in 2011,” commented LaBelle.

“I want to thank Dick and Ted for the honor to continue being part of Weirbach Racing for 2011,” commented Martin. “We learned where my strengths and weaknesses are, and we plan on building from where we left off. I feel much more confident on Miles and I expect that you will see me on the podium more often in 2011. My goal for next year is the No. 1 plate, so everyday I will be on a bike of some sort whether it’s Super Moto, Motocross, Dirt Track, or just trail riding.”

“I'm very excited to be joining up to make a three rider team for the 2011 season with Weirbach Racing,” said Janisch. “The SV has made big strides thoughout the end of the year, and I'm looking forward to the challenge of fighting for main events and getting some good finishes. The team is preparing motorcycles for the 2011 season over the winter months aiming for a successful 2011 season.
