Despite having been on the scene for more than a decade, Californian Chad Cose has only really come into his own over the past few seasons.
An exceptional natural athlete, Cose started racing at age nine and was also a standout track and field competitor during his high school days.
Cose won the 2007 National Hot Shoe Championship and then raced the bulk of the next ten years at the sport’s highest level with a best Mission SuperTwins Main Event result of eighth.
He seemingly unlocked another gear in 2018; He not only broke into the Mission SuperTwins championship top ten (sixth) for the first time, he also ripped off 12 top-ten finishes, highlighted by a maiden premier-class podium at the Texas Half-Mile.
Cose took that soaring confidence and momentum and redirected it to the undercard for 2019. There he scored his first-career Progressive American Flat Track victory with a win in the Mission Production Twins class at the Lima Half-Mile. He then backed it up a few weeks later with his first-ever Parts Unlimited AFT Singles victory at the Black Hills Half-Mile.
Cose wasn’t done yet, winning the Mission Production Twins finale at the Meadowlands Mile. Ultimately, he finished inside the championship top five in both classes.
He enjoyed another strong campaign in 2020, adding another Parts Unlimited AFT Singles win at DAYTONA among his two class podiums while also scoring seven podium finishes in Mission Production Twins action.
Cose then finished as the 2021 Mission Production Twins championship runner-up on the strength of eight podiums including a victory in the Volusia HM season opener.
He then returned to the top of the box in the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles class in 2022, winning the inaugural Cedar Lake Short Track and backed that up with 12 top tens in ‘23.
Aggressive and motivated, Cose is willing to mix it up with anyone and has shown the savvy to outfox even the likes of Shayna Texter-Bauman in final-lap showdowns for the checkered flag.
