Johnny Lewis has played a critical role in putting Royal Enfield on the Progressive American Flat Track map, helping to develop, campaign, and ultimately make a winner of the marque’s Twins FT racebike. Typically, Lewis spends as much time and mental energy making sure others are the best riders they can as he does on himself. But the founder and owner of Moto Anatomy proved he still very much knew that which he teaches as an Progressive AFT part-timer. That well-rounded skill set and availability made him the perfect man for the job when Royal Enfield sought someone who could analyze its new race bike, successfully manage a race team, and battle for checkered flags. Lewis enjoyed a meteoric rise as an amateur, earning 2004 AMA Sports Athlete of the Year and AMA Sports Dirt Track Horizon Award honors while winning three national championships. However, he switched gears slightly shortly thereafter, and established himself as one of the hottest young stars in the AMA Supermoto series while securing a number of invitations to compete internationally in the hybrid sport. The native Pennsylvanian returned to his flat track roots in 2009 and has logged multiple podium finishes since, highlighted by a win at the season-opening DAYTONA Short Track in 2012. Lewis founded Moto Anatomy in 2015, which offers customized training to unlock riders’ potential across a variety of riding disciplines. And his Moto Anatomy X Powered by Royal Enfield Twins race team sent waves through the paddock in ‘20, scoring an Mission Production Twins win and two podiums in the Royal Enfield Twins FT’s debut season. The pairing has continued to impress as the bike continues to develop in power, agility, and durability. From ‘21-’22, Lewis added a victory at the prestigious Lima HM, three total podiums, and ten additional top fives. And in 2023, he proved that Royal Enfield could compete at the sport’s highest level, earning ten top tens, including a pair of top fives and a Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge victory, in marque’s first full season in the premier Mission SuperTwins class.
