Robert Pearson
Robbie “Bugs” Pearson captivated the dirt track world in 2003 with a splashy third-place finish at the Milwaukee Short Track when he was just 17 years old and backed that up with another podium at the Topeka Half-Mile in 2008.
In nine separate seasons since, Pearson collected at least one top-five finish – including a host of fourths. But it wasn’t until 2018’s Minnesota Mile that he at last returned to the podium.
Pearson built on that resurgent form to enjoy perhaps his strongest Mission SuperTwins season to date in 2019, taking three top fives, highlighted by a fourth at the Peoria TT to end the year ranked eighth in points.
He backed that up with four more top fives over the next two seasons, including back-to-back podiums at the Dallas HM doubleheader in 2020.
Pearson is among the many privateers who have seen their fortunes rise thanks to the availability of fully competitive customer bikes that present an opportunity to show off their true ability on a leveled playing field.
An adventurous spirit, Pearson enjoys snowboarding, off-road motorcycling, bicycling, and golfing when he’s not rubbing elbows at triple-digit speeds.
