Any given race could prove to be the one in which Brandon Price finally knocks down the door and establishes himself a Mission SuperTwins race winner.
The 2010 AMA Youth Rider of the Year, Price put together a standout amateur career that included 31 wins and 11 AMA Amateur National titles.
He made his mark on the Progressive AFT scene in just his second professional season, finishing as the 2017 Parts Unlimited AFT Singles championship runner-up. He was well on his way to taking the next step the following year before a terrifying crash at the 2018 Springfield TT resulted in a broken scapula, bruised lungs, lacerated liver, and traumatic brain injury that left him unconscious for days and out of action for the next four rounds.
Initially, it was feared that Price’s promising career might be at risk, but he returned to action later that season. However, after struggling to regain his front-running form, Price decided if he was going to rebuild his career, he’d prefer to do so at the top level. That decision set the stage for an outstanding start to his Mission SuperTwins career.
Price flashed eye-popping speed and confidence late in his rookie premier-class campaign in 2019; he came up just 0.169 seconds short of victory at the Springfield Mile II, and then overhauled Jared Mees and pushed Briar Bauman to the checkered flag en route to a runner-up result at the Williams Grove HM less than a week later.
He then improved his GNC standing from 12th his Rookie of the Year campaign to sixth overall in his 2020 sophomore season. Price was a consistent force at the front that season, securing five top fives and 12 top tens in 15 races. His most impressive moment came at the Atlanta ST II, where he led the bulk of the race and went bar-to-bar with Jared Mees in an ultra-close runner-up finish.
Price added another near-win to his record in 2021, battling Briar Bauman to the last lap at the Port Royal HM coming up just 0.242 seconds short. Price collected five top-fives in all en route to a seventh overall ranking.
2022 proved to be a tumultuous affair as he piloted Indians, Kawasakis, KTMs, and Yamahas in a disjointed partial season. He still managed to lock up a championship top-ten standing, including a best finish of sixth. ‘23 was more of the same, with points-paying finishes in six races despite a limited schedule.
Fortunately for himself and the series, Price has returned to the series full-time in 2024 with his sights set on securing his maiden Mission SuperTwins victory.
Price boasts an ideal combination of low weight, high confidence, and extraordinary natural talent.
