Long-time Progressive American Flat Track racer Cory Texter has established himself an Mission Production Twins power in recent seasons, first earning the crown in 2019, finishing as championship runner-up in 2020, and then reclaiming his throne in 2021. Texter, who first started riding at the age of four, fought long and hard to achieve his current level of success, both enduring and enjoying a career that had seen more than its fair share of peaks and valleys. His professional career started in 2008 and, by 2016, the Pennsylvanian had gradually built himself into one of the ten best Grand National Championship riders on the planet. That season he twice finished on the podium, backing up his first-career premier-class top three taken at the Arizona Mile with a second at the Springfield Mile. However, he finished outside the top 20 in points the following season. He next moved to the Parts Unlimited AFT Singles class in 2018 hoping to rediscover his confidence. While he did manage to claim a fourth-place race result, that desired career resurgence wouldn’t truly take place until his epic ‘19 Mission Production Twins campaign. Texter came out of the gates swinging in 2019, dominating the opening three rounds of the season -- claiming pole, leading the most laps, and taking the checkered flag first each time out. He didn’t win another race all year, but he didn’t need to; Texter remained a consistent force near the front of the pack, adding five more results of fourth or better -- including a pair of podiums -- before his championship-winning season was complete. Texter made history in the Mission Production Twins opener, when he and younger sister Shayna became the first siblings to ever win American Flat Track Main Events on the same day. While he ultimately fell short in his title defense in ‘20, he earned plenty of accolades with his four-win, 11-podium effort. Texter then returned with a thoroughly dominant ‘21, claiming seven victories among eleven podiums to lock up the championship with two races still remaining. Texter is a respected, well-liked figure in the paddock. He often serves as an unofficial voice for fans, privateers, and the sport more broadly alike. He’s a certified trainer, bicyclist, runner, and family man.
